Our strategy, vision and values

LCHS and ULTH currently work together in a Group model, as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG). The Group model brings together acute and community services to support more integrated working, improve outcomes for patients and populations, and make best use of our collective resources across Lincolnshire.

The shared Group Strategy 2025 to 2030 provides the strategic direction for both Trusts. During 2026 the strategy was refreshed to strengthen alignment to the NHS Ten Year Health Plan, the Neighbourhood Health Framework and wider national delivery expectations, while maintaining the original strategic framework. Our shared vision is “caring and building a healthier future for all”.

The Group Strategy provides the framework for annual delivery planning and performance oversight across both Trusts.

To help deliver our strategic intentions we have set ourselves the following strategic aims and objectives.

Our strategic aims capture the three things we must do to deliver our vision; they are our long-term goals and create the bridge between our vision and the annual goals needed to achieve it.

The strategic objectives are the things we must do to deliver each of the strategic aims. They act as a roadmap, aligning efforts across teams to ensure that every action contributes to our overarching aims. Assurance ratings are assigned to each strategic objective in the Board Assurance Framework. Progress updates against each aim are monitored at relevant Trust board committees.

During 2026/27, work towards these aims and objectives included continued focus on waiting times, pathway redesign, productivity, digital transformation, neighbourhood health, workforce development and reducing health inequalities, all supported through the Group model and system wide partnership working.

The Group has adopted three values to show what we stand for, how we want to be known and how we behave.

These values have been developed with colleagues across the Trust and underpin everything we do to help us achieve our vision of ‘caring and building a healthier future for all’.
