Eligibility

We are looking for candidates who want to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of Lincolnshire, and some surrounding areas.

The Chair will play a pivotal leadership role in guiding Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group through the next phase of its development, including the successful delivery of a planned organisational merger in 2027.

The successful candidate will provide visible, confident and inclusive leadership across the merged organisation, driven by a clear strategic vision focused on improving outcomes, experience and value for patients, communities and staff.

Working closely with Board colleagues, executive leaders, system partners and stakeholders, they will oversee effective governance throughout the transition, build trust and alignment across organisational cultures, and ensure that the full benefits of integration are realised while maintaining operational performance and quality of care. The Chair will need to balance ambition with assurance, providing stability and continuity during a period of significant change and helping to create a single, high-performing organisation that is well positioned to meet the future health and care needs of the people of Lincolnshire.

Required skills, experience and attributes are described in the NHS Leadership Competency Framework for Board Members, which can be found on the NHS England website.

  • Prior experience on an NHS board (executive, non-executive or associate role)
  • Professional qualification or equivalent experience
  • Prior senior experience of complex organisations outside the NHS, i.e. private, voluntary or other public sector providers of similar scale
